Assistant Nurse at the Nephrology and Hematology Department

At the nephrology and hematology department, patients with acute and chronic kidney failure, as well as other medical conditions affecting kidney function, are cared for. We also care for patients with hematological diseases that involve blood and bone marrow. The department has close collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, day care, hematology outpatient clinic, dialysis, kidney outpatient clinic, and PD clinic. Patients admitted to the department come through outpatient clinics, dialysis, and the emergency department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an assistant nurse at the nephrology and hematology department, you will have a varied and exciting job that provides you with broad competence. The work is diverse, involving both acutely and chronically ill patients of all ages, and the pace varies along with the tasks. We aim to always have a unit manager or deputy unit manager on site. We have a receptionist during daytime on weekdays who handles all incoming calls and acts as a coordinator. We also have a care planner who assists with planning for our patients before their discharge.

As an assistant nurse with us, you will work with standard tasks, such as:

• monitoring vital parameters
• venipuncture
• identifying risks such as pressure ulcers and malnutrition
• catheter insertion and care
• performing peritoneal dialysis
• supporting personal hygiene
• documentation.

The position involves day and evening work throughout the week. Night work is offered based on experience. We are keen for you to enjoy working with us, and we are all willing to answer your questions and support you if you are new. We apply a wish schedule. The introduction is tailored to your previous experiences.

We are looking for a confident person and skilled assistant nurse who is good at communicating while being attentive to your surroundings. You enjoy a varied workday and have the ability to quickly adapt to different situations. You are accommodating and responsible - and have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others.

In the role of assistant nurse, you should

• be a trained assistant nurse
• be able to communicate in Swedish in both speech and writing.

For this position, it is an advantage if you have experience with venipuncture, catheter insertion, and documentation in journal systems, preferably with experience in Cosmic.
